Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has said he hopes to bring in
another three or four players before the transfer deadline after
completing the signing of Jimmy Kebe from Reading.
Kebe, 29, signs on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee and Huddersfield full-back Jack Hunt is expected to follow.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Palace’s 3-1 Premier League win against Sunderland on Saturday, their first since returning to the top flight, Holloway said: "The chairman and I have been working so hard to bring some more people in. I think we've got two done today, hopefully we'll get another three or four done."
Kebe, who has spent two seasons in the Premier League with Reading, becomes Holloway’s eleventh signing of the summer.
He told the club’s official website that he was attracted by the prospect of testing himself at the top level again.
"It's a big move for me, I didn't know if I was going to be able to move in this transfer window but getting back to the Premier League was my main target," he said. "I'm very excited about it.
"I talked to the manager and you can see how excited he is and I'm ready for the challenge. It's a big opportunity for the club and we know it's not going to be easy to stay in this league as there's a lot of good clubs but anything is possible, so we'll try our best.
"I was in the same situation with Reading and it's never easy to move from the Championship to the Premier League as it's a big step but there's quality players here and we have a strong team to do something with here."
