Odemwingie ends West Brom nightmare after completing Cardiff Move

Peter Odemwingie appears to have sealed a move away from West Brom - this time officially.

The striker has signed for Cardiff City on a two-year deal after the Baggies accepted an offer of £2.25m.

Odemwingie memorably attempted to force through a transfer to QPR in January, going as far as to drive himself to Loftus Road to discuss the deal only to be locked out when West Brom refused the Hoops permission to speak to their player.

The 32-year-old Nigeria international returned to the Hawthornes but unsurprisingly found his opportunities limited and the fans against him. He is yet to play a game this season, and with just one-year remaining on his West Brom deal, this time a move was sanctioned.

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay can add Odemwingie to Fraizer Campbell, Nicky Maynard, Rudy Gestede, Joe Mason and £7.5m summer buy Andreas Cornelius as his front-line strikers.

The Bluebirds will also be pleased to have secured the deal amid reports Welsh rivals Swansea were also interested in his signature.
