Real should never have sold Ozil to Arsenal - Capello

Fabio Capello reckons Gareth Bale will have his work cut out to fill the huge void left by Mesut Ozil at Real Madrid after claiming the La Liga giants should never have sold the star midfielder.

Ozil agreed a £42.5million switch to Arsenal on transfer deadline day after Real completed the signing of Bale from Tottenham for a world-record fee.

While Ozil has helped inspire Arsenal to the summit of the Barclays Premier League, Bale has also enjoyed a colourful start to his career at the Bernabeu, scoring on his debut before seeing his new side go down to a surprise 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on his home debut.

The Spanish giants host Copenhagen in their Champions League group clash on Wednesday after losing to neighbours Atletico at the weekend.

But Capello, now manager of the Russian national side, still believes Ancelotti's side are odds-on to add to their nine European Cup titles this term.

'The players are getting used to the change in the system of play,' Capello said. 'Carlo needs time. He has a great team.

'For me they are the biggest favourites to win the Champions League. There is no team with players like this.'
