Wenger silent on Suarez link

ARSENE WENGER has gone all coy about his interest in unsettled Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

The Arsenal manager flew into the Indonesian capital of Jakarta today for the start of the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East.

Taunted Liverpool star Luis Suarez pushing for Real Madrid move

LUIS SUAREZ has stepped up his bid to join Real Madrid, claiming he is being hounded out of England after his wife was reduced to tears by taunting fans.


Liverpool striker Suarez, 26, who is on international duty with Uruguay ahead of the Confederations Cup, said: “About a week ago I was walking in a shopping centre near Manchester with my wife and daughter and three or four guys asked me for a photo. While we were posing for it my wife said to me, ‘Luis, get out of the photo’.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has given his wantaway striker Luis Suarez some food for thought after claiming the squad he has assembled at Anfield is "ready to challenge" in next season's Premier League.

Luis Suarez does not have a £40 million buy-out clause in his Liverpool contract, contrary to reports, ESPN understands.

It was suggested on Friday that Real Madrid were preparing to activate a clause in the Uruguayan's contract that would secure his release from Anfield, but club chiefs have told reporters that their star striker cannot be purchased for less than the £50 million they recouped from selling Fernando Torres to Chelsea two years ago.
